Tariff FAQs

Mercedes-Benz Tariffs FAQ's

Is Mercedes-Benz doing anything to minimize the impact of the tariffs?

Yes, Mercedes-Benz is working to minimize the impact of tariffs in the short term by holding the current manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) on all new 2025 Mercedes-Benz models until further notice.

Additionally, Mercedes-Benz produces some vehicles at the U.S.-based manufacturing plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, which has been producing vehicles stateside since 1997. The following models are produced at the Alabama plant and are less impacted by the tariffs:

  • Mercedes-Benz GLE
  • Mercedes-Benz GLS
  • Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV
  • Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV

Finally, Mercedes-Benz representatives have an open dialogue with the federal government to advocate for local communities, dealerships, and workers who provide Mercedes-Benz vehicles and all the luxury services related to ownership.

Will the auto tariffs announced on March 26 increase prices on new Mercedes-Benz models?

Yes. However, Mercedes-Benz has decided to absorb the increased prices due to tariffs to offer customers the same 2025 pricing before the tariffs went into effect.

Which Mercedes-Benz vehicles are affected by the tariffs?

All Mercedes-Benz models are impacted by the tariffs. However, some are impacted more than others depending on where they are assembled and the percentage of parts sourced from outside of the United States.

Are there still incentives and discounts on Mercedes-Benz vehicles impacted by tariffs?

Incentives and discounts change on a monthly basis. You can check our special offers page for more information about our current offers.

What will happen to the price of Mercedes-Benz vehicles starting in 2026?

If the current tariffs on auto imports and parts remain in place, Mercedes-Benz vehicles will likely see a significant price increase starting on 2026 models. We recommend that any shoppers currently in the market for a new Mercedes-Benz vehicle, purchase or lease their vehicles before the price increase.

Are there tariffs on Mercedes-Benz parts?

Yes, the automotive parts tariff applies to Mercedes-Benz replacement parts.

Will there be a price increase on Mercedes-Benz maintenance and repair services?

Yes. Due to the tariffs on auto parts, the overall cost of service will likely increase.

If I purchase or lease a new Mercedes-Benz at the higher price, will I get my money back if the tariffs are reversed?

No. Unfortunately, tariffs are paid as they pass through customs, and the vehicle price reflects the cost of the tariff already paid. If the tariffs are reversed, it would only affect vehicles that have not cleared customs. Those vehicles are not currently on our lot.
